Hi there!

I started my practice in November 2019 so I could continue to serve families while also being present for my own. In an effort to continue that mission and keep a manageable caseload, I'm seeking a passionate and kind pediatric speech-language pathologist to help me serve families throughout Waxhaw!

About the role

This would be a part-time building caseload with very flexible scheduling and potential for full-time if desired. My goal is to extend the same flexibility that I have gained through private practice to YOU! Applicants must be able to commit to a minimum of 10 sessions per week (once caseload builds). Beyond 10 sessions, work as much or as little as your life allows.

The ideal candidate would

  • Have experience working with the pediatric population and thoroughly enjoy working with children ages birth to 10.

  • Be comfortable working closely with parents and caregivers as vital members of the team.

  • Have experience working within early intervention programming, caregiver coaching, and “bagless” therapy, or willingness to learn! I am happy to provide training and mentoring!

  • Be willing to provide services to children wherever it most benefits them, including home, preschool/daycare, or our boutique-style office in downtown Waxhaw.

  • Value the benefits and evidenced-based practice of seeing young children in their natural environment.

  • Be a self-starter and possess the organizational and time-management skills to operate a personal and independent work schedule.

  • Be proficient with assessment, treatment, and all necessary clinical documentation.

  • Be a team player and willing to work with Kelsey to develop and execute community programming.

  • Have a growth mindset and willingness to learn through meaningful continuing education and team collaboration.

  • Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program

  • North Carolina state license*

  • ASHA C's*

  • Must pass criminal background check

  • Must have valid NC or SC driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Must be available for a minimum of 10 sessions a week

*NOTE to CFs: Hi Clinical Fellows! We would LOVE for you to join our team and believe this could be a wonderful CF placement (and hopefully somewhere you would want to stay when you get those C's!). I (Kelsey) would be honored to mentor you as you begin your career! Please reach out if you are interested, and we can discuss the position in further detail and what it would like look to complete your CFY at Playful Communication.
