Targeted and comprehensive evaluation

All new patients must have an evaluation prior to beginning treatment to assess the area(s) of concern and determine an appropriate plan of care. Additional evaluation may also be necessary as therapy progresses. Evaluations take place in the child's natural environment (i.e. home, daycare, preschool) or my office, located in downtown Waxhaw. Regardless of location, a primary caregiver must be present in order to gather a full case history and caregiver report. You will receive a complete written evaluation report with assessment results, informal observations, background information, recommendations, and a proposed plan of care.

Individual therapy

Therapy is always evidence-based and driven by the needs and interests of the client. For the littlest communicators (ages 0-3), sessions are typically provided in the child's natural environment (i.e. home, daycare, preschool, or other community-based setting). I come to you! This is often the most appropriate setting to address the child's needs. For those 3 and older, sessions are provided in a cozy, boutique-style office in downtown Waxhaw. Caregivers are always encouraged to be an active part of our therapy sessions in order to best carryover activities and skills outside of the therapy sessions. Sessions are scheduled for 30-45 minutes. We will work together as a team to determine the session length, frequency, and setting that best meets your child's individual needs.

Phone consultations & screenings- FREE

Deciding whether or not to pursue therapy can be challenging to process. Give me a call! We can discuss your concerns and work together to determine the next step to take. In addition to phone consultations, I offer speech and language screenings to identify potential deficits in speech and language. After the screening is completed, I will review the results with you and provide recommendations.

Community education & services

I am honored to provide education for caregivers and educators in our community through workshops and presentations. Educational and therapeutic workshops are regularly scheduled throughout the community. I am also available to give presentations at local schools, daycares, and private groups (e.g. church groups, Mom groups, homeschool groups, etc.). Presentations address typical speech and language development, red flags, tips and techniques, or a particular speech/language disorder in which your group may be interested. Contact me for more information regarding opportunities for education, screenings, and service provision at your local site.
